meeting

Summer of 2007.


Graden: Moved out of his dad's house and moved in with his friends at the Branberry. Many nights were spent sleeping under the stars with his friends and his days spent riding on his new Yamaha V-Star Motorcycle. Perfect relaxing summer.

Haley: Most fun summer ever, every day and night was spent with her best friend Kara, doing anything and everything from, staying up all night talking to traveling to exotic places like Tokyo, Japan. Haley and Kara were unstoppable, always meeting new people and doing new things.


A night in July.

A friend of a friend invited Kara to go swimming at the Branberry. Kara brought Haley along. They walked into the guy’s apartment and lying on the couch was Graden. Haley took one look at him and his amazing looks took her breath away. Haley was too shy to say anything so she and Kara left with the other guys to the pool.


At the pool Haley, Kara and the guys were talking and enjoying themselves, then Graden came out to join. Haley over heard the guys talking to Graden and from what she heard Graden was going through a break up.


Haley's summer was full of meeting new guys and many dates. After many failures she was not about to start chasing another guy, so even though Graden had amazing looks and was now single, she was going to let him pass.

Haley continued to hang out and enjoy the rest of her summer while Graden got over his break up.


First day of school.
Both Haley and Graden were signed up to take public speaking. Haley went to class while Graden was talking with the counselors trying to switch public speaking with another class. He had no luck. It was fate!

Second day of public speaking.
Haley got to class early and sat in the back. Just as class was starting Graden walked in. Haley got little butterflies. After class Graden met Haley at the door. Haley talked first "Your Kara's friend’s right?" *Kara had hung out with Graden and his friends a couple times after that one night* Graden answered "kind of, I'm Hyrum's friend" *Hyrum was the friend of a friend* "Oh, well I've got to go to class, I'll see you on Monday, bye!" and Haley left. She was nervous and thought if she kept it short there wouldn't be any awkwardness.

Next couple weeks.
Graden and Haley sat next to each other in class and had chit chats. Graden was taken by her. He started an investigation. He needed to find out if Haley was dating anyone. After talking with some of her friends he could check his list under her status, single.

Back to class after Labor Day.
Graden: Hey Haley, How was your weekend?
Haley: It was good, went camping with my family. How about you?
Graden: It was fun; I hung out with my friends. So I see your friend Kara a lot but not you, where have you been?
Haley: Oh, uh around you know.
Graden: Well, we should change that. Dinner?...Thursday?... Seven?
Haley: Sure, that sounds great! *oh my gosh, he is asking me out!*
Graden: So what’s your number? *ah, my hand is shaking I hope she doesn't notice*

Graden: Ok, I’ll call you tomorrow and pick you up at seven
Haley: K, see ya tomorrow
